No Morals

The story about the twelve scumbags standing around watching a girl get beaten and gang raped by another group of scum buckets is infuriating to me. We have devalued each other so much in our society that this kind of shit can happen. It makes my stomach turn.
Do people not raise their children with any moral compass or sense of right or wrong anymore? I can tell you unequivocally that there is no fucking way at 12, 19, or 80 I would stand by and watch this kinda shit happen to another human being. No way. People are either total disgusting perverts or they are so spineless that they do nothing. Either way it says a lot about the way young people view each other now a days.
These kids are disgusting human beings. There is no excuse. I hope they get locked the hell up for just as long as the rapists. They are no different.
Aaaahhh...I feel much better.

Homeboy Industries

I just watched an inspirational story on CNN about Homeboy Industries. The largest gang intervention service in the country. The story was about a woman named Alma who joined the group after having her first child. She said that she wanted all the things for her child that she didn't have because of being in a gang. So she left the gang and now works in Homegirl Cafe. She should be an inspiration to us all.
She made a decision that she wanted more out of life for her daughter and herself. And she is doing what she has to do to get where she wants to be. Its nice to hear positive stories about young people who still have enough of a conscience left that they want to change. I am going through big changes of my own right now.
I usually want people to help themselves without help from anyone. I was raised by a hard ass and sometimes forget that everyone needs help sometime in their life.
I'm glad Homeboy Industries exists to help young people that want more. I fell if people are going to complain about gangs and they see someone trying to help the situation I feel it is our job as a community to support them.
I wonder if they accept small monthly donations.

Date Night

In an interview with New York Times Magazine, President Obama makes a comment about the criticism of his "date nights" with his wife. I don't personally have a problem with his date nights but anytime W left the White House for vacation or anything else not work related people said he should be handling the countries business. Not off gallivanting around. If that is how people truly feel, the rule should apply to all presidents, not just ones people hate.
I'm just pointing out what I perceive as hypocrisy. Not hatin...

Robert Reich: What An Honest President Would Say About Health Reform

I can not find this whole speech online anywhere. I am hoping there is something I am missing that will make this not sound as bad as it does. I know he is an advisor to the President. Scary stuff.

Raising Rates 2

I just got my letter from Citi Bank telling me that my new annual percentage rate is going up to 29.99%. As I said in a previous post it isn't a problem for me because that credit card has a zero balance. For those Citi bank card holders in debt it doesn't look like it's going to be a happy holiday season.
I know it said in the credit card agreements we all signed that the banks have the right to raise rates arbitrarily. But who thought they would do it in the middle of a recession and right before the holidays.
HoHoHo my ass.

Dan Snyder and Barack Obama

President Barrack Obama and Redskins owner Dan Snyder are two men who don't seem to have a lot in common. That is until you look at how they handle criticism.
Redskins fans have been pissed about the teams performance. They have signs they are taking into the game that say unflattering things about the team and management. Dan Snyder's way of dealing with the issues is to ban the signs.
President Obama doesn't like what FOX news reports about him and his administration. So he tries to marginalize them, doesn't invite them to interview administration officials. Effectively tries to ban them. Both of these men want to attack the messengers and shut them down instead of debating what they are saying.
DC is rubbing off on Snyder in a bad way.
Stupid decision on both men's parts. It won't have the desired effect.

NASA Worth Our Money?

I don't know a lot about the space program and what benefits we've gotten from it aside from national pride. I am not saying there haven't been any, I'm just not sure what they are. Thats why I am questioning why we are spending all of the money we are on trips to the moon and Mars when people here on Earth are having financial problems.
I understand that we are supposed to be the world leaders when it comes to space exploration. I get that. But when I know people personally that can't find a job and are being told their unemployment benefits are being cut soon I feel our money, by "our" I mean us taxpayers, is being misused.
I'm sure there are people out there much smarter then me with lots of good reasons for the space program. My question to those people is is space exploration more important then people having food to eat and a roof over their head?
Just asking.

Speak English 2

Last week I saw a great example of why we need to make people that come to live in this country learn basic English. I got in line at my local corner store, Brown Street Market, behind a woman who wanted to play the lottery. She was from country A we'll call it. The people that own and run the store come from country B. They were unable to communicate, shockingly.
I stood in line 5 minutes longer then I should have to as I listen to these two people get angrier and angrier at each other because they are unable to communicate. I feel like this is a good example of what is coming down the line for our country if we don't take steps now to make new immigrants to the US learn English.
I am the child of people that immigrated to the US, several generations ago, as are we all unless you are a native American. Everyone had to assimilate and learn English to become a part of the US culture. Now people come here and expect us to learn their language. No way!
If the government doesn't take steps to make people learn to speak English it's gonna be like the Tower of Babble up in here.

Sex Addiction

I am watching a story this morning about the ESPN anchor Steve Phillips saying that the reason for his affair is that he is a sex addict. I am so sick of addictions being used as an excuse for bad behavior.
It seems every time a politician, celebrity or anyone else in the public eye is caught doing wrong they say they are addicted to xyz and they are immediately going into rehab. Like that somehow means that they really aren't responsible for their actions and choices. I am addicted to drugs. Yes weed is a drug contrary to popular opinion. I know it was a bad decision I made and it has affected my life in a negative way. But if you were to ask me why I am in the position I am in in my life I would say ' the choices I made'. Not ' oh I am addicted to blah blah and I didn't realize what I was doing.'. Give me a break.
We are turning into a nation of irresponsible babies. We have to learn that until we buck up and take responsibility for what we have done, our lives will never change. I am speaking from experience.
The reason life gets messed up is the decisions we make not what influenced the decision. This made sense in my head. I hope it makes sense here.

The Truth About Canadaian Health Care

I am not saying yeah or nay to health care reform. Just liked this video and found the information interesting. Plus the guy makes me laugh.

Distracted Flying

They just announced that those two idiot pilots that overshot their destination were distracted by using their laptops. Excuse me?
In DC a bus driver is seen texting while driving, he is fired. A Metro train operator was seen reading and texting and he was fired. But two dumb ass pilots who were using their laptops rather then pay attention to their jobs are still employed? That doesn't make any sense.
Fire their asses. People that choose jobs that involve the safety of others should only get one chance when it comes to this kind of stupid stuff.

Minnestoa Hospital Administartor Dies of H1N1

The person in charge of H1N1 prevention at a Minnesota hospital died of H1N1. That's reassuring???
They said they aren't sure weather or not he had an underlying condition. Well shouldn't they check the health of the people they put in charge of H1N1 prevention before they give them that assignment. Seems like common sense...guess that's why they didn't do it.
It is the guuuuubment (government for those not from DC) after all.

What's Going On

I just wanted to let the people know that read my blogs that the number of posts each day should be getting back to normal soon. I am having a hard time balancing all my blogs and doing my YouTube channel. Its more work then I anticipated. I feel if someone takes the time to comment I need to take the time to respond. That is gobbling up a lot of the time I would usually spend writing.
I am not abandoning either I just have to figure out how to spread myself a little more evenly.
