It's Official

Our government is full of wimps. The French rescued their own people from a hijacking at sea today. Unfortunately one Frenchman was killed. They must be able to better understand that these are terrorists that should be destroyed. They need big ol cannons on the front of every cargo ship and when these fuckers get too close, blow them the fuck up.

Brintney Spears walks off stage during concert in Vancouver (because of weed smoke) Circus 4-8-09

After all the toxins this bitch has put in her body, she has the nerve to be upset by weed smoke. She and her crew are a bunch of fucking idiots.

Electric Bill Part 2

A couple of weeks ago I posted about how I was able to get my electric bill way down by doing several things. Just got this months bill and it is only $108. That means in 2 months I have cut $110 out of my bill. Wooohooo!

King or Queen

So president Obama will bow to the king of Saudi Arabia but will not bow to the queen of England. Why? If it really had something to do with stature, Queen Elizabeth is smaller then King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz so that explanation is bullshit. What is the real reason?

*Update* Just to make sure I am being clear here, I don't think our President should be bowing to the leader of any other country. A head nod is all the "respect" we need to show. They sure did not bow to our leader.

Way Back Scary

It's funny when you see something as an adult that FREAKED you out as a kid. There was a movie back in the day called It's Alive. The commercial freaked me out so bad my parents used to jump up to change the channel. I found the TV trailer on You Tube. Ooooooh scaaaaary!!

Electrical Grid

President Obama returned from his overseas trip today where he met with, among others, China and Russia. On the same day we find out that the Russians and the Chinese have hacked into our electrical grid. Lots of trust built over the last 8 days. These countries are not our friends. Why are we acting like they are?
I understand that we all have to work together but they are trying to sabotage our country. Some say that hackers have been trying to do this anyway. Well hackers are one thing, this is another countries government.
I wonder if we do the same thing. I hope not. And so.

My Fault

I went in to work today in a good mood. I don't really talk a lot first thing in the morning but can fake it for clients for 15 or 20 minutes. I do not fake it for my co workers. They know to just say hi to me and I'll get warmed up shortly. Some of them are the same way.
I was doing OK today and then I made a comment about an issue in the salon. I got a smart assed reaction from a coworker. I got pissed. I shouldn't have brought it up and they could have reacted differently. It was resolved by the end of the day. In the past I would have held on to it for days.
Evolving is hard.

Judge Judy

Whenever I feel that there's no justice in the world, I turn on Judge Judy. She doesn't waste time on idiots. We should all be so lucky to have that option.

Pirates Vs. Wimps

How wimpy has the world become when it comes to confronting the bad guys? We can't even protect our own ships from pirates. I am watching "breaking news" about a US cargo ship that was hijacked temporarily this afternoon. The interviewer asked an owner of another ship, that was hijacked last year, why isn't the crew armed and/ or armed guards on board. His answer was "we don't want to escalate things"? What the fuck is he talkin about? There have been 80 ships hijacked in the same general area over the last few years. They are using speed boats, machine guns and rpg's. That seems pretty escalated to me. And why would they stop hijacking these ships when they get paid off every time they do it?
After George Bush was so gung ho and aggressive when it came to confrontation, the world seems to be weary to confront anything else.

*Update* I just want to be clear that I am saying the companies that own the boats are wimps not the sailors and crew.

Motor Vehicles in DC

I just looked up the definition of a motor vehicle. It is any self propelled vehicle designed for running on land and not on rails. That obviously describes scooters, mopeds, and Segways. So why in the hell don't they have to get license plates like cars and why are they allowed to operate on the sidewalk.
I had someone go pass me on a Segway on the sidewalk. He was goin fast enough to cause a breeze when he passed me. His ass should not be riding on the sidewalk, he should be operating in the street like all other motor vehicles. And what happens if these vehicles collide with a person or a car. Because they have no license plate their is no way to identify them in an accident.
I believe the city is trying to stop people from driving cars by giving the fools on these unlicensed motor vehicles free reign. They need to licensed and regulated just like cars and trucks.

Pro-Life Doctor's

Is the government really going to try to force pro-life doctors to perform abortions? I find the government taking away the free choices of American citizens offensive and scary.
During a recent debate on NPR a Planned Parenthood lawyer was quoted as saying"If you are unwilling to provide a legal health care procedure, you have no business being a doctor". Planned Parenthood needs to keep their fucking opinions to themselves when it comes to deciding who is and isn't qualified to be a doctor. My opinion is that anyone who would take an innocent life has no business being a doctor. If we want to go down this road there will be no doctors at all. It's funny some of these people describe themselves as pro-choice when they are really pro-abortion. I know a few people who have had an abortion and many of them were not told how it would affect them mentally. They also were not prepared for the physical side effects.
If planned parenthood is really looking out for women, why not give them all the facts including side effects? I believe people have to make their own decisions about what they are going to do in their own life. If you want to go to a pro life or pro choice doctor that is non of the governments or planned parenthood's damn business!

Porn Industry

The porn industry has accomplished something huge. They have convinced a large part of the population that porn is no big deal. They have also gotten them to believe that porn represents freedom of speech. Evidence of this is that some students at the university of Maryland are going to show a porn movie on campus. They do not see what the big deal is.
Yeah what is the big deal. You know we have so much respect for women in this country as it is. We are totally capable of objectifying women in one instance and giving them equal rights at the same time. Its not like sexual harassment and rape and abuse are problems for women in this country anymore.
If you think that abusing women and objectifying them have nothing to do with each other, we see the world through different glasses.

North Korea

I am just shocked that China and Russia would block any sanctions against the North Koreans for violating agreements. I know why. They didn't actually nuke anyone. That seems to be how the UN works. Wait until a something bad happens and then try to do some thing about it. I understood the UN was started after the holocaust to prevent future problems. Are they stewards or janitors?

Playboy Sexually Harassing?

Just saw a story about a woman that worked at playboy suing for sexual harassment. My first thought was if you go to work in the sex industry, you really shouldn't be surprised when there is a lot of sexual innuendo and inappropriate behavior.
Then they described what her harasser allegedly said and did to her. Touching her, sayin how big his dick is, saying he wants to lick her dry after a shower. I would say that goes beyond flirtatious behavior.
I see the situation in two different ways. No woman deserves to be sexually harassed however when you dress like a hooker and pose nude people miiiight think you're a ho.

Explorer: Inside Guantanamo

If you have the National Geographic Channel I recommend watching Explorer: Inside Guantanamo. It shows all of the horrible things that have gone on in the past. It also shows how horrible things are even within the legal limits.
I am watching the part where they are showing the one hour a day the prisoners get in the yard/cages. The prisoners are saying all of this nasty shit in English and Arabic to the female guards. All of a sudden one of them says, to the Nat Geo crew, in English "hey sorry guys. We are cursing at the female military. Not at a civilian guy. We don't have problem with the civils.America's army we have problems. Because they hurt us for nothing. Record it.". It caught me off guard.
They are acting crazy but it is obviously an act. Not saying that there haven't been people that have probably gone crazy in those conditions. But this one man's apology reminded me that they are human beings.

Torture in Iran

Still watching 60 Minutes. The next story was about Ahmed Batebi, an Iranian man whose picture ended up on the cover of The Economist. He was a student that was involved in a July 1999 protest where a friend of his was shot. A picture of him holding up the blood soaked shirt of his friend got him a death sentence. Instead of killing him, he claims the Iranian government tortured him. They let him out for medical treatment and he escaped into Iraq. He know lives in the US.
I hope our government will make the end of torture a stipulation for any talks between the US and Iran. Now that we have stopped the use of torture, we should be able to exert some pressure? That is if we have really stopped.

Bouncing Back

I have not posted much over the last few days because of many angry and hateful comments I have received. I can totally understand getting very strong reactions from people over my beliefs. I see the world very differently and knew that if I started publishing my views, I may get attacked. What I did not expect was people hating me for what I think.
I am a very intelligent person. I can debate many issues with people I disagree with and still be civilized afterwards. Most of my friends don't see things the way I do but they have remained true to our friendship. I now know that my friends are a rarity. I appreciate them much more now.
One of my clients asked me why I keep on doing this? Or at least why not publish anonymously. NO WAY! If I don't have the balls to show myself, then I should keep my mouth shut. Cowards hide in the shadows. I believe what I believe strongly and I will not quit speaking.

Las Vegas Health Crisis

I just finished watching an emotionally overwhelming story on 60 Minutes about the recession's effect on health care in Vegas called Closing the Clinic. They showed several people who may die as a result of the cuts being made in the state budget. One woman has two children and is bed ridden because she has cancer that has spread to her bones and she has a broken hip.
I can be a hardcore asshole sometimes when it comes to helpin people who I feel haven't helped themselves. But these people will die. They will die. Not homeless, not hungry, DEAD! How can I turn my back on people when they are desperate for help?
There has to be someway we, as private citizen's, can help in some way. If anyone reading this knows of any charities or service providers that will take donations to help these people, or people in my area in a similar situation, please post it here in the comments.
When I was 18 years old my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. She was successfully treated. I can't imagine what it would be like to watch a loved one die, period, let alone because of a lack of money.

More Spring Photo's

I just put up another slide show with pictures of the beauty I see on my way to work daily. Lucky me. It is in the side bar. Here is one of my avorites. Looks very peaceful.

Sad In Many Ways

I just finished reading this story on the BBC's website. It is sad that people are so desperate that they would live in sewers and ship their children off alone to another country. It is also sad that the world continues to do business with countries that treat their own people so badly that the people resort to these measures.
