I am a dog owner in DC. I am lucky to have a backyard where I have trained my dog to go to the bathroom before we go for a walk. One reason is I hate picking it up when it is fresh. I let it settle for a few hours if not a day before I pick it up in my own yard. The other reason is I know some of my neighbors don't like there small front yards being used for a toilet. I believe property owners have that right. Today, however, I saw someone trying to take shit a little too far.
They had this sign on the piece of grass across from their yard. On the side of the sidewalk nearest the street. I thought that is DC government property. If you want to plant shit there go ahead. But our dogs have to use the bathroom somewhere and you don't have the right to bogart city property and rope it off from other citizens and their dogs.
Don't like it, too frickin bad. You and we owners have the same rights to use public land. You want to control all the land around you move your ass to the suburbs and put up a big fence.
If I am wrong about who owns the property, disregard this entire rant.
